Springfield castle is approved as a wedding venue by the HSE for civil weddings as well as wedding blessing ceremonies. We have a maximum capacity for 70 people.While the castle and tower sleep a maximum of 25 guests with luxury accommodation, we can cater for up to 35 guests for a wedding dinner in the East Tower dining room but for larger weddings of up to 70(or for a different style), guests can eat in the Green Room. Springfield Castle is a unique venue, exclusively yours to enjoy. Your ceremony is held in our ceremony room in our renovated medieval tower. There is no formula in Springfield and we will work directly with you to ensure you have a unique and special day. We have a 3 seasons in Springfield. There is low season which is March, October, November and December(excluding Christmas week and New year week) During this period we have a 2 night minimum stay but if you stay for 3 nights the third night is free. The accommodation price for 2/3 nights is €6700. A week during this period is €10,500. Then April, May and September is mid season and during this period you can only rent on a 7 day basis from Friday to Friday and the cost is €11,300.For June, July and August there is also a 7 night minimum stay from Friday to Friday and the cost is €15,500 On top of these costs is a venue fee to hold the wedding on site which is €2000 for up to 35 ppl. €2500 for up to 50ppl and €3500 for up to 70 ppl. Then you have your food costs which range start at €53 pp including a half bottle of wine pp.

Perfection

Springfield Castle, Karen and all her staff made our wedding nothing short of perfect! As soon as you travel down the 3/4 mile driveway you instantly know your are in for something special, the castle is an amazing building with the rooms exceptionally furnished and we had the whole place to ourselves. The ceremony rooms and the food done by Karen and her team really did make the dream wedding.

Springfield castle was our dream wedding venue. I loved that I could customise every aspect of my day. Our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been at - being able to pull your own pint in a bar to being able to shoot a bow and arrow in a wedding dress - Springfield has it all! Karen is a wonderful asset - she is very responsive and really flexible. Food was delicious and portions were so generous.

Truly Medieval Magical Experience

Well what can I say when your daughter gets married in a castle for her fairy tale wedding? Springfield Castle was amazing from tip to bottom. The owners and their staff were very attentive to all our needs. The 13 bedrooms were comfy and cozy. The ceremony, Dinner and reception rooms were all amazing. For an unbelievable and affordable wedding with an amazing backdrop, Springfield is a great choice.

A Beautiful Day with Family and Friends.

Our Wedding in Springfield Castle will live in the memories of all those who attend over the 3 nights we spent there. Jonathan, Betty and especially Karen Sykes and her team were there for us at every step, to answer any questions and provided us with an experience that we felt like WE owned Springfield. The setting is spectacular,the service was first class and everyone was accommodating, friendly and efficient. It was the first time that most people had met up for the first time but the layout and atmosphere of Springfield lends itself to a relaxed and friendly venue and in no time at all we were one big happy family. We will be forever grateful for the experience and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Absolute dream, wedding, and family vacation venue!

We had a fall wedding in September 2023 at Springfield Castle and it was an absolute dream. We stayed with our family and friends for a whole week and we all had the most amazing experience that I’m sure we will talk about for the rest of our lives. The grounds are absolutely stunning and something out of a story book. Karen and her family were nothing but accommodating, friendly, helpful and supportive all throughout the week and truly made our experience memorable. As for the wedding, the venue was perfect and we were able to use the whole grounds for different parts of the wedding. All the ladies got together in the duchess suite which made for beautiful photos and even better memories. We got married right in front of the castle under the large tree where the team set up rows of chairs and made it better than I could have expected! The cocktail hour was held in the tower and food was divine! And Karen was so sweet to even save a tray for my husband and I to ensure that we ate. The dinner was served in such an intimate and beautiful way and Betty helped create the most amazing flower arrangements. Every single detail of our wedding was absolutely perfect and I have zero negative feedback. As someone who is not from Ireland, I was a little worried but we went with their suggested vendors (photographer, bartender, catering, florist) and every single one blew us away. Thank you to Karen and team for making our once in a lifetime wedding so magical!!

Our fairytale wedding at the beautiful Springfield Castle

If you're ever looking for somewhere that will feel both like a second home and a truly medieval magical experience look no further. I went with Springfield Castle as my wedding venue but what we received was so much more. Karen and her amazing team were like a part of the family we didn't know we were missing. Everyone was so helpful and amazing I can not thank them enough for making my wedding stay absolutely perfect! The food was absolutely top tier and they were very accommodating to any dietary restrictions. We were only there for a few days but the memories made here will last a lifetime. We very much look forward to coming here again soon for more special occasions! Thank you so much for everything Karen and Springfield Castle!

This place was wonderful. We were here for a destination wedding the castle was beautiful and had so many amenities - game room, hot tub, barbecue, fire pit, open head area with soccer goals and archery targets. Plus so many fun rooms just to hang and talk.

Fairytale wedding experience

We had never planned a wedding before and we were a little nervous about planning one for 60 people in another country. Karen and her team took our vision and made it a once in a lifetime fairytale wedding for us. The food was amazing, the flow of the week and wedding was perfect, and they were the most accommodating and kind people. We felt like they were family and were just as excited as we were. Travel Notes

You can fly to Shannon or Cork, they are both about an 1 and 20 mins from the castle. If you fly into Cork or Dublin you can get a train to Charleville which is 20 minutes from Springfield. From there you need to get a taxi. If you fly into the Shannon the best thing is to get a bus to Newcastle west and get a taxi from here. It is about 15 minutes from us. Ideally the best option to rent a car.
