With exclusive use of the Castle’s ground-floor reception rooms, including the Great Hall, Drawing Room, Gothic Ballroom and Morning Room Bar, Slane Castle provides a range of distinctive spaces for your celebration.
Weddings of 60 to 110 guests can enjoy dinner within the Castle, while larger celebrations of up to 200 guests can dine in an elegant Courtyard marquee, with the Castle remaining the setting for your welcome reception and evening dancing.
Tailored Celebrations
Your wedding at Slane Castle is exclusively yours, with only one wedding hosted each day. Whether you are planning an intimate celebration or a larger gathering, our team will work with you to create a wedding that feels personal and unique.
Rehearsal dinners and day-after gatherings can also be arranged, allowing you to extend your celebration and spend more time with family and friends.
Ceremony Options
Exchange vows surrounded by the history and character of Slane Castle. Choose an atmospheric ceremony in the magnificent Gothic Ballroom, or say “I do” on the Front Lawns, with the Castle providing an unforgettable backdrop.
Outdoor ceremonies are available with a ceremony canopy and are subject to weather conditions and availability. Nearby churches also offer an alternative for couples wishing to have a church ceremony.

Enjoy a three-course wedding dinner showcasing locally sourced ingredients, complemented by elegant Castle dining and attentive service.
For those wishing to stay overnight, Slane Castle’s 10 en-suite bedrooms accommodate up to 27 guests, with breakfast included for overnight guests. Additional accommodation is also available nearby.

We live in the United States and booked Slane Castle without visiting beforehand. We connected through our love of music, and got engaged in Ireland in 2023, so this was really the perfect venue for us. The venue was stunning, the decorations the castle provided were beautiful, and the food was delicious. Our friends and family are still talking about how amazing the castle was. The venue is stunning and the surrounds are lovely with the River Boyne in the background. The staff are friendly and the service is incredible. The food was delicious and plentiful. Do you hold more than one wedding a day?
No, we do not! We have a one wedding a day policy. In addition to this, we offer full, exclusive, Castle Hire for your wedding. This means no other event will be happening on the Castle grounds during your wedding day.
Are you able to give us vendor recommendations?
Of course! We are happy to provide contact details for vendors that are trusted by us and/or have worked in the venue before. All you need to do is ask your wedding coordinator what you are looking for, and they will provide a list.
Would I be able to have a rehearsal day the night before as well as a celebration the day after our wedding?
Definitely! We specialise in multiday weddings. We can offer night before wedding rehearsals with your close family and then day two celebrations which could include a barbecue and a pig on a spit! That's one of the best things about getting married in Slane Castle, we can accommodate most requests, and we have plenty of event spaces to make your day special.
Do you cater for couples that do not live in Ireland?
Of course we do! We have many past and present wedding couples who come from all over the world including, America, Japan, Canada, and the UK. We work with and around the time schedules to ensure your wedding planning experience with us is no different to that of people who live close by!
