Blackwater Castle is available to hire in its entirety for your special event as a private hire venue. We encourage you to take over the Castle and create your own magical event so that the Castle is your home from home. There is no formula here – you have the freedom to design your wedding in a way that reflects your unique style unfettered by licensing rules or other restrictions. You can select a theme and dress the Castle in a way that reflects that theme – we encourage you to bring in your own personal touches such as all your old family photos to place around the fireplaces and pianos so that your guests really feel as if they are celebrating your event with you at home.

A most fabulous venue, steeped in the history of many centuries but with every convenience to make for an unbeatable venue for our daughters wedding, two families and many friends accommodated in the luxurious castle bedrooms and the extra dormitory and cottage accommodation, great parking facilities, fully stocked kitchen to cater for a crowd and beautiful reception rooms and bar

An amazing place

An amazing place. It is like a wonderland, you can hire the entire 40+ acres for a function and organise it to suit yourself. I was there for a 2 day wedding and it was magnificent. The place is as big as your imagination.

It truly is exceptional to have a whole castle

As a Wedding Photographer I see many locations and found this to be one of the best for that most special of days. Patrick and Sheila are amazing hosts and could not do enough for the wedding party. It truly is exceptional to have a whole castle totally at your disposal... Very cool location...

The most wonderful weekend ever.

My brother had his wedding here in April 2017 and it was the most wonderful weekend ever. The staff couldn't do enough and the grounds are spectacular. I would definitely rate it as a top class venue. People are still talking about it.

Absolutely stunning location

Absolutely stunning location. Attended a wedding here and it was completely self contained. One of the best weddings I was ever at. So much to do and discover here. A nice getaway. You'll have no Internet on your phone, enjoy it.

Wonderful experience at my daughter's wedding

Norah Norton: Wonderful experience at my daughter's wedding - 3 days of graciousness and fun. 120 guests most of whom were accommodated on the grounds. An outdoor wedding ceremony in the beautiful gardens. Next day the young ones went off ziplining over the trees while the oldies strolled in the grounds and enjoyed singing around the grand piano. We are already talking about a reunion on the fifth anniversary. Everything made magic by the warmth of everyone connected with the castle.
