Oasis Farm Waterloo Full Description
Our city farm is brimming with charm and colour, and just a short walk from Waterloo & Lambeth North Stations. Our charity partnership has developed unused land into an amazing community resource and a haven for nature, where we learn to care for ourselves, others, plants, animals and the environment. We run therapeutic and educational activities for children and youth at risk, workshops for grown-ups, and seasonal events for the public. Our farm is a partnership between Oasis Hub Waterloo and Jamie’s Farm, and all the profits raised from our wedding hires go directly back to our work with youth and the local community. Couples hold both their ceremony and reception here in our architecturally award-winning barn (RIBA London & New London Architecture). Guests step out to take pictures and chat in our blooming garden (or meet the animals!) while the space is re-set for formal sit-down meals. We offer all hires as a blank canvas, allowing couples to choose the caterers (or food truck), decor, and bar set up that works best for them. We can also recommend trusted caterers, florists and musicians on request. Every couple that books our space puts their own unique stamp on it, and we're always eager to see what the next wedding holds!

Personal Message from the Manager

Name of Wedding Contact: Alison Middleton
Thank you so much for considering Oasis Farm Waterloo as a venue for your big day! We're a small community farm and spend most of our time running outreach programmes with young people and our local community – but it is such a joy every time we get to be a part of a couple's special day. We're always open to new ideas and would love to chat through yours – send us an email at [email protected] any time, and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

A little gem to find in the middle of Waterloo
We were there for a wedding and it was lovely. What a little gem to find in the middle of Waterloo! The team were really accommodating and so patient with the kids, showing them all the animals, too.

Would 100% recommend the farm as a venue
Michelle has been ridicuously incredible in terms of our wedding, which is planned at the farm - she has been so flexible and kind when we've had to move it due to Covid. Would 100% recommend the farm as a venue - it's beautiful, your money doesn't just go to a venue operator but to a community project, Michelle - who is our contact point - is great, and you get to chill out with some animals

A wonderful place doing great work in the city
We attended a wedding here, held in the very smart barn. It was a lovely environment for our crowd of animal lovers and community minded guest. Great atmosphere with lots of space. The staff were friendly and helpful. The farm animals are all used to having people around and petting the guinea pigs was a sweet extra. The evening ended with dancing and sitting on hay bales around a brazier. A wonderful place doing great work in the city. Well worth a visit.

Wedding of my dreams
I was starting to despair, I had less than half a year to plan a wedding and every London venue I had explored was the worst elements of the wedding industry manifest: expensive, full of hidden costs, shallow. Then I found Oasis farm.  Even on a cold day in early spring, the place seemed to glow. It was beautiful, it was adaptable, but best of all it was somewhere we could be proud to give our money to, knowing that our wedding could be a positive part of the local community.  Leading up to, and on the day itself, Oasis Farm was so helpful in making sure everything was a success. With their help we could have the laid-back, low-waste, colourful and unique wedding of my dreams.

Describe the best wedding that happened at Oasis Farm Waterloo?

Each wedding here has been so unique to our couples that it's hard to pick an absolute favourite. The best ones are when the couples have been able to put their own stamp on the day, either through organising simcha dancing, speciality kegs from the brewery in their local area, or allowing the mother of the bride to run her own gin palace for the evening. It's always a unique touch like this that means the day comes alive and makes weddings a joy to host!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Focus on what is important to you as a couple, not what everyone else thinks you 'should' have. You really won't be stressed about what glassware you ordered on the day, you'll be caught up in the joy of it. So pick things you like, and trust that when it gets to it, all people will really want is to spend time with you!

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

So many! Some I've already mentioned. We did have a couple organise a friend of theirs to lead the entire party in a sing-a-long this year though, that was pretty special.

Describe Oasis Farm Waterloo in 5 adjectives

Surprising, Hidden, Green, Ethical & Ever-Growing.

Where’s the best photo spot at Oasis Farm Waterloo?

In our walled garden, designed by Dan Pearson – the afternoon sunshine comes over the old brick wall and it's just beautiful.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at Oasis Farm Waterloo?

We did have Pearl Mackie as a guest to one of our weddings once! Our Event Manager at the time was a big Doctor Who fan, so she was pretty excited. Of course, we played it very cool.

What’s your favourite canapé?

We know it's a little 'tried and true' but we really can't go past croquetas. Our friends over at London Basque Kitchen are absolute wizards at this, and always surprise us with what wonderful flavours they combine.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Marshmallows roasted over our fire pit, of course!

What is Oasis Farm Waterloo most unique feature?

The animal pens! We always have chickens, guinea pigs, goats & rabbits; we currently have sheep, and sometimes we have piglets or lambs too!

What part of your business are you most proud of?

The real change we get to make in the lives of the young people we work with.
