Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
I think my favourite wedding has to be a 3 day weekend celebration hosted September in 2021. The event started with an intimate licensed black tie ceremony for family on Friday evening, followed by an in-house dinner party for the guests staying onsite; day 2 was a full-blown party with celebrant wedding, tipi and street food; the final day was a big family BBQ with garden games. At Westfield, it really is up to the couple how they use their time and we love seeing the facilities being used all weekend.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't let the 'DIY' element stress you out. All of the suppliers, in particular marquee and tipi providers, are used to blank canvas venues and everyone in the industry is always more than happy to help answer any questions.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
As we are a DIY venue it is great to see when friends and family chip in with the planning and preparations. We have had a cake made by Granny, flowers by an Aunty and even celebrant friends. If you just want a little personal touch why not make your own home brew - you can't go wrong with a homemade Sloe Gin as a wedding favour!
Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed. Welcoming. Homely. Blissful. Fun.
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
There are so many wonderful spots for photos as the gardens and grounds are so picturesque. Photographers can use the balcony to get a fabulous group shot of your whole wedding party but my favourite has to be a sun set shot in our surrounding farmland - these images are always stunning!
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Yes we have recently hosted a wedding for the drummer of a British rock band
What’s your favourite canapé?
I once had a Venison steak & chimichurri skewer which was AMAZING!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
I love white toast and marmite as a midnight snack
What is your venue's most unique feature?
I think the fact that we are opening our family home, gardens and grounds and allowing couples to treat the place like home is our most unique feature. There is no pressure here and we just want our couples and their wedding guests to feel at ease.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
I am so proud to work alongside my mum and run our business as a strong family unit. We are not only a fabulous mother and daughter team but we are also best friends and I think this is really apparent for anyone visiting our properties and wedding venue.
