We enjoy a unique affinity with weddings at the Bournemouth Carlton. We really do. It stretches back 70 years. After WW2 the hotel housed GI brides: the women waiting to rejoin the American servicemen they’d met and married while the soldiers were stationed in the UK. In 1946, 213 of these wives and 224 children left the Carlton for Southampton and a Queen Mary crossing to a new life in the States. We offer eight spectacularly refurbished event rooms with fabulously elegant décor, capable of hosting everything up to 200 guests. Five of our function rooms are licensed for civil ceremonies, giving you the choice to hold your marriage with us, as well as your reception. Our relaxed yet highly professional team of experienced wedding coordinators will lead you through the whole planning process for your big day, from florists to photographers to catering. Helping you with the finer details for the perfect wedding. We offer 76 bedrooms to cater for a variety of guests, from double rooms for couples to self-catering apartments ideal for families. We even offer a sea-view room especially for the newly married couple.
