Kate Jackson Full Description
I love being a wedding photographer and film maker, I couldn't think of a more fun job. Your wedding is less about tradition, and more about good music, good food, and good times. A relaxed and fun day, where you can soak it all up with your family & friends and celebrate the way you want. I'm talking marrying your favourite person in front of all the people you love, bear hugs, silly dancing, and maybe a few tequilas for good measure. You're looking for a photographer that feels more like a friend you've known forever, one that blends in seamlessly and photographs your day just as it was. Basically a best mate that takes awesome photos.

Kate is everything you would want
Kate is everything you would want in a wedding photographer. From start to finish she made the whole process very easy. She's very professional and organised but super friendly, giving helpful advice about what you might want for the photography of your big day. I didn't even notice her on the day, and yet she managed to capture the emotions and feelings or our big day perfectly!! We really couldn't have asked for better quality photos. She got so many amazing and natural shots, that just take me right back to that moment in time. Kate also created us a film clip which is just so wonderful and well put together. We couldn't recommend her highly enough. Thank you Kate!

goes above and beyond to capture your day
I would love to give Kate an infinite number of stars as a review as she really does go above and beyond to capture your day. Not only did Kate travel all the way up to bonnie Scotland, get right into the middle of our hectic ceilidh and manage to capture so many glorious little moments, she did it all with a huge smile and loads of energy. The most important thing somebody can give you is their time and Kate gave us that in abundance. On the lead up to the wedding she was there for advice and helpful hints, on the day she was an absolute dream to work with and she really became one of the family pretty much instantly. Don't hesitate in booking Kate, I have friends that have said they want her at their weddings- Have her at yours, you 1000000% will not regret it.

Kate has been such a special part of our wedding
There are not enough words to explain how perfect this lady is! From communication which has always been second to none, to her blending in so well on the day you almost forget theres a camera there - which achieves the most perfect natural photos. Kate has been such a special part of our wedding from the offset and we are so so glad we chose her to photograph our wedding. Our photos are more than we could have ever imagined. Thank you so much. What is your most memorable wedding?

Probably the one where I stayed late because my couple insisted I wait for evening food before my journey home. So I did and got loads of extra dance floor images before grabbing a delicious plate of food - put it on my passenger seat, decided I should shut the door because it was windy and I didn't want it to go cold whilst I went to say goodbye to the couple. Came back to realise I'd clearly locked my keys in the boot, in an area with no phone signal! A guest smashed in the window for me and that's the last photo in the gallery (because obviously I still had my cameras attached to me). My couple thought this was hilarious as they had no clue any of this was happening!!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Fun, relaxed, joyful, story-telling, emotive

What about your business are you most proud of?

The bonds I make with people. When I get asked back to photograph day in the life shoots with my couples and their families and everyone gives me the biggest hugs, asks after my other half or when parents of my couples contact me to say how much they love the wedding photos. It's special.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

It's your wedding, do it your way and don't sweat the small stuff. Your wedding is one mega celebration of your relationship, so it should reflect who you both are.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Recently one of my couples who met on hinge created hinge profile table place names for each of their guests!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Email - Video Chat- Book - Keep In Touch - Wedding Day - Happy Dance Upon Photo Delivery. Or sometimes its Email - Book - Video Chat. In summary anyway, I think it's really important to get to know a couple, and for them to get to know me. I will ask around a million questions, because I really do want to know it all. As a couple it's really important you get on with your photographer, as out of all suppliers they really will be spending the most 1 on 1 time with you, and you need to know they are going to nail your story. I want to be like an old friend blending in not just for you but for everyone at the wedding, and I really think that makes a difference to the shots I get.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

I think trusting your photographer to tell the story of your day is really important. That said, making some time for couple portraits is always good. Even if you're anything like me and feel super awkward being the centre of my cameras attention, I don't do anything super posey. It's more walk/chat/giggle/snap. Plus it is really nice to have a some time away from the crowd, just you two (with me running around getting excited about light/walls/a rabbit I just spotted running into a bush).

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

As my style is more documentary I don't tend to get any requests for specific photos. If myself or a couple want to incorporate a specific backdrop in our portraits then we'll all discuss it and give it a go if we are up for it of course!

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Channel your inner child and stomp in the puddles. Rain never stopped anyone from saying 'I do'. Choose to get rained on or buy some really cool wellies, rain macs and umbrellas!

Describe how you got into photography.

Photography has always been in my life, wedding photography specifically my mate asked me to 'take some photos of us like you do at the pub' for her wedding - basically they wanted everyone having an awesome time. I gave it a go and fell in love (but admittedly had a lot to learn at that point!) Here we are 10 years later... !
