Glasslife Full Description
My name is Zak Poland and I am a wedding photographer based in Warwickshire. I began shooting weddings with my love for photographing people and my passion to create. No wedding is too far away, I love travelling and seeing new parts of the world. With every wedding I like to meet with the couples beforehand to discuss their specific needs and ideas to help create the best possible collection of memories I can. I base my style on being very adaptable and creative. I like to base my editing finish on enhancing the colours and vibe of the venue and the scenes to create a vivid seasonal colour pop with cinematic depth. I love creating concepts with my couples and seeing what we can create. If you have any ideas you’d like to discuss, I’d love to hear them.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your most memorable wedding?

My most memorable wedding was that of Tom & Charlotte. I photographed this wedding at 1 hours notice with absolutely no prep! Their original photographer didn't turn up so it felt incredible to step in last minute and save the day. The couple were extremely happy with the result and the day was amazing and ran so smoothly!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Creative, Natural, Dramatic, Vivid, Modern

What about your business are you most proud of?

I'm most proud of how much this business has grown over the last 5 years. I started out photographing festivals and live music from my days as a touring musician and now I have been lucky enough to turn my passion into my full time career.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I once saw a basket of free flip flops for the ladies at the reception to relieve their sore feet!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Normally an email conversation followed by a telephone chat. Following the telephone chat I will see you a brochure with a bespoke price list of some package options to best suit your big day. If you're happy I will the send a contract/bank details for the deposit to secure the date. 1 month or so before the wedding I will arrange to meet you both (preferably at the venue) for a free engagement shoot. This helps us get to know each other and to get to know whats working and my style of shooting. Then the big day!!!! Following the big day I will deliver a small handful of previews within a week followed by the big complete online gallery around 4-6 weeks later. This will be your opportunity to discuss prints with me (if required).

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

A wide shot showing off the venue and the couple in a stylistic manor.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

Photographing kids reactions through the couple kissing. Seriously cool play on focus with this one!

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Umbrellas and happy faces!

Describe how you got into photography.

I got into photography from my love of music funnily enough! I used to take photos of festivals and bands back when I used to tour a lot.
