ARCO made the day even more special than we thought it could be.
We got married on 7th July 2021 and ARCO played some beautiful music for us before and after the ceremony. We had to reschedule our wedding 4 times due to Covid-19 and they were so accommodating, understanding and helpful. The music on the day was absolutely perfect (my mam still talks about it now) and everyone said how fantastic they were. Their repertoire of songs is great and we were even allowed to select one additional song that wasn't in the repertoire. We really can't recommend them highly enough and would encourage everyone to have them perform on their special day.

The ability Arco had to move from classical to modern songs was seamless and helped change the dynamic of the day from the traditional elements to a more relaxed environment. We had so many people come up to us and say how brilliant you were throughout the day, playing some brilliant arrangements of modern songs. When people were outside having canapés and the drinks reception, the ambience you created was fantastic allowing people to engage with the music without it being overbearing. Having had such a long time with performing, no one would have known! It was as though you had been doing this week in week out. The performance as a whole was faultless. Thank you for everything you did to be a part of our special day, we really appreciate it and we wish you all the best in the future, now things are starting to return to normal.

Lovely live music
We absolutely loved having you both play at our wedding. I’ve always wanted a string duo at my wedding and you did not disappoint. Our guests loved the music and it was a lovely touch - you don’t get to go to many weddings with such lovely live music. Thanks so much for everything over the past couple of years and re-arranging dates etc.

Stunning music
I just wanted to send an email to say just how beautiful you all were on Thursday. Walking towards Threshing Hall on Thursday and hearing the wonderful music gave me goosebumps. I’ve had numerous messages from friends and family who have commented on how stunning the music was. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the songs you played as did our guests. Thankyou so much for everything.

Perfect music. Flexible and accommodating.
The whole wedding day went better than we could have ever hoped for under the current circumstances, it really was a perfect day that was made even better by having you play for us. Every single one of our guests have commented on how good you were and how special your music sounded in the church. From a personal point of view, I actually got goosebumps walking into an almost empty church and hearing you play the songs we had chosen. It was such a pleasure to stand and listen to you that it made waiting for the bride (traditionally late, of course) much less stressful :) I also wanted to say a massive thank you for being so flexible and accommodating with the changes and uncertainty we faced leading up to the wedding because of government restrictions. Your communication and support was really appreciated.

Could not fault it at all
Thank you for making our day very special. You ladies were brilliant and could not fault it at all. The day wasn’t at all what we planned but with everyone pulling together, it made it more special. Would love to see you ladies play again sometime to really take in the moment again.

What is your most memorable wedding?

There are a lot of contenders, including a Beauty and the Beast themed wedding and a beautiful snowy wedding in Northumberland, but for me the most memorable is playing on HMS Trincomalee in Hartlepool. It's the oldest warship still afloat anywhere in the world, which is pretty special. It's not without its challenges - low ceilings, steep stairways, and a chilly wind at times - but they're more than made up for by the feeling of the ship and the uniqueness of the venue.

What about your business are you most proud of?

We have won many awards over the years, including the North of England Wedding Award for Outstanding Customer Service. The Award is voted for by couple's who've used your service, so it was a real testament to our service that we were voted the winners.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Take it slow - don't feel you have to rush through everything as soon as you're engaged. Take your time and organise things one step at a time.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

One couple had their dog carry the rings down the aisle in a pouch on his collar. It was clearly so special to them as the dog was a real part of their family.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

When couples contact us we send more information about our service, the cost, the music we play, etc. You then have chance to ask any questions, talk to us about your timings and so on. Once you're happy that you want to go ahead you complete our booking form and pay a deposit to book us. We send a confirmation email to confirm the booking. Later on, we get in touch with you about 6 - 8 weeks before the wedding to confirm your music choices. You're welcome to sort those out with us earlier though if you're really organised!

What makes a romantic first dance?

Something that is special to the couple themselves. It doesn't matter what song it is - if it means something to you it's the right song.
