Femme Petal - The Paper Florist Full Description
Femme Petal specialises in paper floristry. An art form that mimics nature to create one of a kind, long lasting floral arrangements. An excellent eco alternative to fresh flowers or synthetic artificial flowers. Our flowers are not shipped great distances from warmer climes and do not require excessive water in water poor regions. Instead each flower is individually handmade here in the UK with British and Italian papers sourced from sustainable forests. Don't want to keep the flowers forever? No problem, they can be composted or recycled, too. We know each bride and each wedding is different, so we provide a fully bespoke service for your wedding flowers. Have as little or as much say in the design as you like. We can cater to your needs, colour scheme or theme. Your arrangements will then be boxed up and delivered to your home, venue or wedding planner. Is your wedding in Tyne and Wear? Then we can hand deliver your flowers, if you require. Our arrangements are individually handmade to order, so don't delay in contacting us, we like to work with a minimum 3 month lead time. Have a last minute request? Please contact us as soon as possible and we'll go through your options. Pricing Prices are calculated per stem, starting price is £5 per stem. Bridebook discounts relate to per stem prices but do not include design fee. Design fee is £100 and is paid upfront as a non-refundable deposit. Deposit is taken after initial consultation and enquiries. Orders with a single item or small number of items may not carry design fee.

Frequently Asked Questions
(7)

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Luxury, Artisan, Eco-Friendly, Unique, Beautiful

What about your business are you most proud of?

Everything is handmade and eco-friendly. We also endeavour to reduce our carbon footprint and are looking into ways to offset our carbon in the future, so that we can be a carbon negative business.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

As always, everything takes a lot longer than you think. Leaving things until the last minute can be quite costly.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Individual succulents for guests as both favours and place cards. Paper ones are better, because guests can't kill them.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Couples decide very quickly if they want our service. Usually they're looking for something unique, fun, eco-friendly and just a bit different. So first contact is to establish the couples needs and wants, any ideas they may have on colours, themes etc. If the client is unsure then we ask them to put together a pinterest board so we can better understand where they're coming from. When we've decided on the exact requirements and design ideas we talk about pricing. Then we take the design fee deposit and get to work. During the process we keep couples updated with photos, get feedback and adjust accordingly. Upon completion we take the final fee, box up the arrangements and deliver them to the chosen address. After the big day hopefully the couple sends us some photos of the arrangements at their wedding, for other customers to peruse and enjoy.

What is the most romantic flower and why?

We're suckers for peonies, especially the handmade kind. They're utterly gorgeous and make the most beautiful bouquets.

What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?

Keep them in a vase or box out of direct sunlight and they should last forever.
