As your hosts, we take the time to get to know you, understand your vision and help you plan a wedding that feels truly yours.
The variety of spaces allows you to design each moment of your wedding the way you want it. Exchange vows on the château’s terrace before gathering in the garden for the cocktail, or choose to say “I do” among the flowers and fountains that grace the French style garden.
Take couples' portraits in salons steeped in history. Enjoy a seated dinner in the former guard room, beneath its vaulted ceiling, or continue the evening outdoors with a buffet overlooking the mountains, giving you more time to take in the last light of the day.
The following morning, you can extend these special moments with breakfast for guests who have stayed at the château, or bring everyone together once more for a relaxed and convivial brunch.

Le château est magnifique, digne d’un conte de fées, et parfaitement entretenu. Les propriétaires sont très gentils et accueillants. Le petit-déjeuner était complet, avec de bons produits locaux. Un grand merci pour cet accueil chaleureux. Nous recommandons vivement ce château à tous ceux qui aiment les lieux pleins de charme et l’atmosphère des belles demeures historiques !Nous avons passé deux nuits au Château de Picomtal pour célébrer notre anniversaire de mariage. Surrounded by the charming village of Crots, the majestic mountains, and the breathtaking blue waters of Lake Serre-Ponçon, the château completely captured my heart. The beauty of the setting and the warmth with which I was welcomed stayed with me long after I left. Deep down, I knew I had found the place where I wanted to get married. It had always been one of my greatest dreams to celebrate my wedding in a castle with an unforgettable view. Château de Picomtal did not simply make that dream come true! it made it even more beautiful than I had ever imagined!! When I returned the following year for my wedding, every moment felt magical. We booked all rooms for our guests during 2 days and they were enchanted. Ryan and Asia were incredibly kind, caring, and attentive throughout the entire experience. Asia est une hôte très joviale et chaleureuse. Elle s’est montrée ultra disponible des nos premiers contacts et ce jusqu’à la fin. On se sent chez eux comme chez nous, puis pas besoin de décor, le lieu, chargé d’histoire, se suffit à lui seul. What types of weddings is your venue best suited for?
Intimate, romantic weddings! Choose the château for its unique character and share it with your small group (up to 58 guests) for the weekend. Immerse yourself in its medieval history and 19th-century atmosphere.
What are the ideal seasons or times of year to get married at your venue?
We host weddings in May, June, September, and early October. Each month offers a special, unique atmosphere.
In May, the vegetation bursts into life, a dusting of snow remains on the mountain peaks, the weather is generally good (though even overcast skies create a magical atmosphere), and there is less competition to secure wedding vendors.
In June, the lake is full, the views are magnificent, and the garden is in full bloom—though temperatures can spike, and wedding vendors may be harder to book.
In September, you can feel the energy shift as new colors emerge and cooler evenings set in; it is ideal for a more relaxed wedding.
In October, the vines covering the château turn a brilliant red, while the trees display shades of yellow, green, and orange—making it the perfect time for lovers of autumn colors.
What practical details should couples be aware of (parking, accommodation, accessibility, etc.)?
We have on-site parking (100m from the château) with space for around thirty cars.
We can accommodate 25 guests overnight. There are several hotels nearby (a 3- to 10-minute drive from the château), and a shuttle service can be arranged.
Accessibility: The château has an elevator and a guest room with a shower designed for guests with reduced mobility. Wheelchair access to the garden is possible, though it requires carrying the wheelchair.
