Toute l’ambiguïté, lorsqu’il s’agit de lieux multi-séculaires, est de savoir où se situer dans le temps et dans l’histoire du bâtiment (son architecture, sa destination…) l’état initial devant être rétabli. Plus qu’à une restauration c’est en fait à une résurrection des lieux à laquelle on peut assister depuis 20 ans grâce à Marguerite et Bertrand Masson. Ils ont rendu la vie au château et ont inscrit le mode de vie d’aujourd’hui dans ces pierres d’hier. Les demeures historiques les plus intéressantes sont celles qui ont un passé riche de propriétaires, qui les ont à chaque époque remodelées et adaptées pour qu’elles restent des lieux d’habitation traversant les siècles et racontant ainsi l’histoire mais aussi l’histoire des propriétaires. Marguerite et Bertrand Masson ont marqué ce lieu de leur empreinte en le rendant accueillant pour les contemporains, chaleureux, élégant et raffiné. If we had to choose the most beautiful wedding celebrated at Château de Meouilles, it would, with a certain bias, be that of our son and daughter-in-law.
This union was all the more precious as it brought together all of our children, who contributed with such passion to the restoration of this Maison Forte. Their love for this place is a heritage that we all share.
