Just 30 minutes from Canberra, near the historic village of Gundaroo, Petrichor Farm is 170 acres of rolling countryside created for weddings that feel beautiful, relaxed and genuinely memorable.
The farm is exclusively yours for the celebration, with sweeping rural views, spectacular sunsets and plenty of space to make the day your own. Say “I do” beneath our magnificent 80-year-old Elm tree or on the central lawn, then settle in for an evening of epic feasts and awesome hospitality.
Meet the Shearing Shed
At the heart of Petrichor is our beautifully restored Shearing Shed – full of country character with a touch of copper glam, a spectacular floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, a full bar and an outdoor deck made for long evenings and dancing under the stars.
Our cocktail waiters shake and stir cocktails fresh at every celebration, adding a little theatre to the party.

We’re big believers that planning a wedding shouldn’t feel like a second job – and neither should your wedding day.
Our packages bring together the venue, food, drinks, furniture, styling essentials and a dedicated team who take care of the details from start to finish. When the day arrives, there’s nothing for you to set up, manage or worry about. Your job is simply to be present, soak it all in and enjoy it.
Stay a Little Longer
When the last song has played, our fully equipped private cottage gives the newlyweds somewhere beautiful to retreat to without ever having to leave the farm.

The farm is yours. No other weddings, no shared spaces and no strangers wandering through your celebration. Just you, your favourite people and 170 acres of countryside to call your own for the day. And when the celebrations wind down, the newlyweds can retreat to our private cottage and keep those just-married good vibes going a little longer!

My No.1 wedding planning tip for couples at Petrichor Farm is to focus on what truly reflects your love story. Whether it's a small detail or a grand moment, make sure it feels personal to you. The most memorable weddings are the ones where the couple’s personality shines through in every detail, creating a day that’s authentically yours.
What happens if it rains?
We have beautiful indoor and outdoor options, and from 2027 our purpose-built Atrium will provide a dedicated wet-weather ceremony space, so Plan B still feels every bit as special as Plan A. Whatever the weather decides to do, our team manages the change of plans for you. And with a backup generator onsite, if the grid goes down, your party doesn’t.
How much do we need to organise ourselves?
As much or as little as you want. We take care of the venue, food, drinks, furniture, coordination and plenty of the practical details. You’ll also have access to our styling Prop Shop and can add our in-house floral service. Our aim is simple: you shouldn’t have to work at your own wedding.

What is the food and drinks experience like?
Generous, memorable and definitely not an afterthought. Led by our beloved and well-known chef Dave Young, our in-house kitchen is all about generous food that brings people together – think grazing, epic feasts and beautiful desserts. Petrichor also has a full bar, with cocktail waiters shaking and stirring cocktails fresh at every celebration.

Can we personalise our wedding?
Absolutely. We have a tried-and-tested format for how we run the show – it keeps everything flowing beautifully behind the scenes – but no two Petrichor weddings are ever the same.
Your people, your style and the things that matter to you are what make the day yours. Choose your ceremony location, explore our styling Prop Shop, work with our in-house floral team or add some of our Extra Delights – think cocktail carts, champagne towers and other little moments that bring extra fun and personality to the celebration.
Can we bring our dog?
Absolutely. Four-legged family members are very welcome at Petrichor. We just ask that you nominate a dedicated handler for them on the day, so you can enjoy having them there for the important moments and photos without having to worry about looking after them yourselves. Your handler can then take them offsite when it’s time for them to call it a night.
Is Petrichor accessible?
Our main venue is on one level and we have an accessible toilet, making it easier for guests with mobility needs to enjoy the celebration.
Can we stay at Petrichor after the wedding, and is there accommodation for our guests?
Yes. Our fully equipped private cottage gives the newlyweds somewhere beautiful to retreat to after the celebrations – no late-night drive required.
While we don’t have onsite accommodation for guests, we’ve partnered with selected accommodation providers nearby and in Canberra, with special arrangements available for Petrichor couples and their guests. Just ask our team and we’ll give you all the details, including where to stay and how to access the partner offer.

How many guests can we have?
The Shearing Shed can accommodate up to 166 seated guests, and we offer different celebration options depending on the day of the week – Thursday weddings from 45 guests, Fridays from 60 and Saturdays from 80.
Looking for something much smaller? Our Smooch Sundays, held on the first Sunday of each month, offer a 2.5-hour ceremony-only option for couples who want to keep things beautifully simple.
